Inspired by phenomenological and epistemological philosophy literature, the work delves into the complexities of perception and being. It embodies the dichotomy of agency and surrender, illustrating how moments of detachment and transformation distort our understanding of linear time and physical space. The project seeks to evoke a sense of disorientation, challenging viewers to find relief in accepting the lack of control. The soundscape includes a biblical phrase read in arabic "and again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground."

A father sends well-wishing voice messages to his filmmaker son, confined in self-isolation far away from home during the Covid-19 pandemic. There is a type of films, books, music, and other art forms that are born strictly from circumstances. "Where Are You Now"? belongs to this category. The film is product of a resistance toward the isolation that the pandemic enforced into the world. The experimental approach is in itself an act of resistance, a confrontation with the norms of documentary storytelling, and the result is the answer to the artist's father repetitive question “where are you now?” , from an artistic point of view - in between the real and the unreal, the fiction and the nonfiction, sound and image, in a reconceptualization of the documentary tradition.

This work approaches from the perspective of metallothionein, a crucial protein within marine organisms, which represents the only means to mitigate oceanic heavy metal pollution. Its presence symbolizes nature's subtle response to human overexploitation. At this moment, nature is not an entity separate from human society but a dynamic network built through the interaction of various actors. By making space for other objects in the ecological collective, and reconstructing a "collective" interwoven with diverse actors where humans and objects closely collaborate, we can more clearly perceive our own existence.

A group of people sleep standing up with their heads down. Light appears and disappears. People wake up. They look around, looking for a source of light. They return to their original position and sink back into sleep. The light appears and disappears. People wake up, look around and fall asleep. The light reappears and disappears. People wake up again, look around again and fall asleep again. Light appears but does not disappear. People are starting to walk towards the light. The film "Beyond the Horizon" is a metaphorical story about the eternal human search for the meaning of one's existence and one's place in the world, as well as the states and situations that individuals and society go through during that search.
